In 2000, Barrett Trade and Finance Group (BTFG) created a special purpose corporation called Barrett Financial Corporation (BFC). BFC has been used since its inception to respond to various special programs by its clients and their unique financing requirements.
The financing program that spawned the formation of BFC was a request from a principal client of BTFG, a restaurant equipment manufacturer, to provide a domestic leasing program for a public foodservice retailer. The complex corporate requirements of the manufacturer, their public parent company, and the food service retailer required the use of this separate company. BTFG created that company in Barrett Financial Corp. and has been using BFC to provide flexibility and augmentation to the existing product offering for clients ever since. From Fortune 100 public corporations to small, private companies, the capability to offer extended payment terms to international buyers with little to no recourse is paramount. Couple that with receiving cash at shipment and booking the sale with “true sale” treatment and you have a recipe for growth and profitability.
BFC uses its facilities to improve the financial strength of the manufacturer while simultaneously providing a tool to aggressively drive sales.
